Camera Journal - Design Thinking Challenge for High Schoolers at Home
Schools are developing plans for the scenari where students are unable to attend de to the COVID-19 coronavirus. Just this morning a student in the Bronx was diagnosed with coronavirus and the schools ere closed. Other schools are closed for cleaning or precautionary reasons, which has resulted in about 1.3M students being out of school. Schools are developing plans for online learning, providing special services, and ensuring that students in need receive wrap-around services. Teachers are trying to figure out to provide meaningful instruction during these interruptions.
One innovative and meaningful activity that students could do at home is keep a camera journal of flawed design that they experience in their daily life. Innovators are driven by the desire to solve difficult problems. Those innovators that develop a keen eye for poorly designed solutions are more likely to solve difficult problems. By taking photographs of flawed designed, students are developing an innovators mindset.
